DACH Mittelstand

Knowledge Architecture for the AI Era & Business Transformation in the Mittelstand

I’m Jonas Hartmann, founder of KnowledgeWerk. From Darmstadt, I advise mid-sized companies across the Rhine-Main region and the wider DACH area on bringing knowledge, process and AI together – so technology investments turn into real impact: personal, independent, and built on a clear methodology.

Impact Partner. Not a Tool Vendor.

KnowledgeWerk was founded as a tool-independent advisor that positions itself as a “knowledge architect” for the Mittelstand across the DACH region. At a time when technology is advancing at breakneck speed, we build the reliable bridge between strategic ambition and practical execution.

We don’t see ourselves as an alternative to software solutions, but as the ones who pave the way for them. While tool vendors deliver the powerful engines, we build the stable roads on which those engines can unfold their full power – through clean knowledge architecture, genuinely lived change management, and a realistic view of what your organization can deliver today.

My job: to build, together with you, the data hygiene and structure your organization needs so knowledge can flow instead of getting trapped in silos – analyzed objectively, prioritized clearly, and implemented step by step.

80%

of AI initiatives in the Mittelstand fail – and not because of the technology

They fail because of unstructured knowledge, missing change support, and investing in tools before the organizational foundation is in place. KnowledgeWerk’s holistic 360° Readiness Check shows you objectively where you stand today – before you invest in expensive software.

A View of the Whole Picture

Three perspectives that come together in every KnowledgeWerk engagement – from the first analysis to change that actually sticks in your organization’s daily work.

1

AI Readiness Analysis

As tool-free architects, we support you holistically through the change process, looking at stakeholders and interest groups across every level of your organization – before a single software decision is made.

2

A View of the Whole

We optimize your knowledge ecosystem holistically and maintain a healthy balance between technical analysis and the human dimension – so AI adoption doesn’t bypass the organization it’s meant to serve.

3

Valuing Experience

We protect your valuable experience-based knowledge from “brain drain” and make it structurally available to the next generation of your team – as knowledge architecture, not a loose document.

Our Approach: the 360° Readiness Path

Every engagement starts with the same question: where does your organization really stand today – strategically, operationally, and culturally? The 360° Readiness Path is the methodology I’ve developed over years of advising Mittelstand companies across the Rhine-Main region and beyond.

  • Analyze: an objective 360° Readiness Check of strategy, process and culture
  • Architect: build a resilient knowledge structure based on the knowledge-graph principle
  • Change: guide your teams through the transformation – with genuine buy-in, not lip service
  • Anchor: sustainable organizational structures for the AI era

Rooted in the Rhine-Main Region. Active Across DACH.

KnowledgeWerk is headquartered in Darmstadt, firmly rooted in the Rhine-Main region – one of Germany’s densest Mittelstand hubs. From here, I advise companies in Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, Mainz and across the wider region in person, alongside clients throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland remotely and via project-based on-site visits.

That proximity pays off: short distances for in-person workshops, a network of Mittelstand decision-makers in the region – and cross-regional experience from projects across the entire DACH area.

“I don’t see myself as an outside vendor who finishes a project and moves on. I build the knowledge architecture your company will run on for the next ten years – together with you.”
