Our Methodology
The 360° Readiness Path: our methodology for AI transformation in the Mittelstand
No tool rollout without a foundation. The 360° Readiness Path is the methodology I use, as founder of KnowledgeWerk, to guide Mittelstand companies across the Rhine-Main region and the wider DACH area through AI transformation – in four clearly defined phases.
Why a methodology – not a toolbox
Most failed AI initiatives in the Mittelstand have one thing in common: they start with a tool, not an analysis. A chatbot here, an automation script there – and what emerges is a patchwork that helps no one, because the underlying knowledge and process structure was never examined.
The 360° Readiness Path reverses that order. Before we talk about software, we build an objective picture together: where does your organization stand strategically, operationally and culturally? Only then comes the architecture – and only at the very end, the question of which tool is actually needed.
The Four Phases in Detail
Analyze: the 360° Readiness Check
Every engagement starts with an honest assessment, with no tool recommendation pre-baked in. Together we analyze your strategy, processes, data landscape and organizational culture.
- Structured interviews with leadership and department teams
- Assessment of the existing knowledge and data landscape
- An objective readiness score with concrete recommendations

Architect: knowledge structure based on the knowledge-graph principle
From the analysis emerges a resilient knowledge architecture, a structure that connects information so both people and AI systems can put it to meaningful use.
- Building a company-specific knowledge graph
- Clear data-hygiene and governance rules
- An interface concept for future tool decisions
Change: guiding your teams through the transformation
The best architecture is worthless without buy-in across the organization. That is why I actively guide your teams through workshops, training sessions and regular feedback loops.
- Change workshops with the affected departments
- A communication concept for the whole organization
- Measurable adoption and usage metrics

Anchor: sustainable organizational structures
To close the loop, we anchor the new structures permanently, with clear ownership, routines, and a roadmap for what comes next.
- Defined roles and responsibilities for maintaining knowledge
- A roadmap for the next 12-24 months
- Optional ongoing support and regular reviews
Who This Approach Is For
Mid-sized companies
50 to 2,000 employees, often owner-managed, in the Rhine-Main region or across the wider DACH area, who see AI as a structural opportunity, not a hype cycle.
Executives & leadership teams
Decision-makers who want objective clarity about their own organization before committing budget to a major technology investment.
Knowledge & IT leads
Teams that need to think knowledge management and AI tools together, and want a methodology instead of one-off measures.
